On December 9th we hosted a custom designed Pizza-making workshop for local accountants Essendon which also doubled as their Christmas party. Our former baker son Josh led the pizza making and all the eleven guests got right spirit of it and made some great pizzas which they enjoyed along with games and marshmallow roasting over the fire pit. We loved hosting the team and would be keen to run similar evenings for other local organisations.
This is what they said about the evening:
"Last Friday, the Essendon team enjoyed their Christmas event. Slightly different from the normal meal out, we were in charge of making our own food, in fantastic surroundings and with plenty of toppings of our choice! Yes, you’ve guessed it – our evening involved making pizzas and playing games.
Our evening was hosted by Sue Macmillan and her family who opened their house Sipala up for us. We had free rein over the kitchen, sitting area and dining room, not to mention the garden with its fabulous yurt, complete with log burner, and an outdoor pizza oven and fire pit too!
The evening kicked off with a Greek mezze starter and a quick few rounds of ‘Guess Who I Am’, before we were taken under the wing of Sue’s son Josh for some pizza making tuition. Everyone really got stuck in. We made our own dough, created unique toppings and then cooked and ate our own concoctions. Afterwards we toasted marshmallows and chestnuts in the fire pit, before retiring to the yurt to play Linkee in teams.
We had a brilliant evening, great food, good team building and lots of fun. Sue and her family are incredible hosts and Sipala is an amazing place. We can’t recommend it or the people highly enough, and it was such a different thing to do at this time of year!"
